Taylor Hughes

For my concentration I am illustrating classic literature. This one is The Grapes of Wrath. I chose to illustrate the scene early in the novel when the turtle is injured by the truck. This scene symbolizes the plot of the novel; the turtle ,representing the farmers being crushed by the truck, the truck representing the big banks "the man"

I have not read the book but with this I feel like I have a pretty good understanding of what it's about. I think the tire looks great. Very nice job!

I feel like the shell is kinda distorted but I like your idea, very creative

This is AMAZINGG. I've read the book and written an entire paper on the symbolism of the turtle and the truck and you captured it beautifully. The paler background and monotonous tire (of the bank companies) really make the turtle more vibrant and symbolic. You chose a great concentration and created even greater art.
